Harassment behaviors include but may not be limited to stalking, offensive comments, hate speech, any kind of intentional non-consensual physical contact, recording, or photography without permission.
Please do not touch anyone without their consent or take photos of any attendees with them being a focal point (such as asking a cosplayer (a person in a costume)). You may take photos at events of cosplayers such as a cosplay event unless otherwise asked not to. Attendance at a convention whether in Cosplay or not does not imply automatic consent for pictures, videos, or physical touch. If you have any questions or concerns, please talk to a volunteer. If you have any photos, videos, or voice recordings that are taken without the consent on an individual, you may be asked to delete it from your device and device's trash, recycle bin, or equivalent. If there are any violations of this or anything that is disruptive, we may take various actions ranging from politely asking you to refrain from that action up to expulsion from the convention and contacting law enforcement.
If you feel harassed, please talk to one of our volunter or staff, and we will take action to stop the harassing behavior to help you feel safe. Our attendee safety and wellbeing is our top priority. If you feel that your concerns are not being met, please ask to be put in contact with the convention chair or co-chair. You may always email us at: ui.con.questions@gmail.com although if you need help in real time, please inquire with a volunteer or staff member.
If you see something, say something! Again, we want everyone to be safe. Please let us know about any concerns. If it's a non-emergency, please go to Con Ops or ask a volunteer. If it is an emergency, please inform convention volunteers and staff or hotel staff if you see them first. If there is a risk of immediate significant harm to you or others , please call 911.
